"I agree with Eric . . .I have been using this vise for about three years (and have tied flies for over 50 years) and although Larry doesn't promote it as a rotary vise it can easily be used as one. The shaft holding the head has a a groove the thumb screw fits into that ensures the head won't come off when rotating it; merely loosen the thumb screw and the head can then be rotated quite easily. I do it all the time for some of my flies. I am assuming that since Larry is such a perfectionist he won't advertise it as a true rotary but to my way of thinking it surely works fine as one." The same unique one-piece design of the vise head as the standard vise with additional adjustments and capabilities to include knurled adjustments knobs (versus wing-nuts) that make it even more effective. This is a fly tier's dream and the best of the best. The design virtually eliminates all that can go wrong with the mechanical cams, collets and springs found on the "new age" models.

It is beautiful in it's simplicity, and will handle 32 midge to 6/0 saltwater hooks. It is hand lathed from solid bar stock and then tempered, polished and coated. The jaws cost more to make than most companies spend on their entire vise.

The stem rides on a ball bearing within the base plates, unique among vise design. This permits instant repositioning of the head to any angle. The stem itself is sharply indented to provide optimum room for the the tier's hands and materials.
