So far this season has been rewarding for the fisherman but not the prey. I am not a purest but watching an armada of boats angling for spawning tripletail in a limited area worries me about the future of the species. It has to have an adverse affect even though many are released. It was found in a University of British Columbia study that a large percentage of fish do not make it after "catch and release".
There are things other than fish to be caught on our beautiful waters. For all my years out there i always looked for solitude which to me is not found in a boat to boat situation. Trout and Reds have been cooperating. We and future generations will be rewarded by letting them swim for another day. We shouln't have to have regulations to govern our treatment thereof. The very best to all. Capt Larry
